DPI Update (Issue 28)
John Mitas, DPI Operation Manger, is currently on annual leave. As such Colin Thornton has kindly updated the CMPA on current DPI activities.
Audit Blitz—Progressive Rehabilitation
The next DPI targeted audit will be on progressive rehabilitation, with the audit tool still being finalised – more details in our Minerals and Extractive Operations Newsletter, with next edition due out in early October.
EPA—Air Quality
Discussions are ongoing with the EPA regarding the draft PEM for Air Quality – Mining and Extractive Industries, and in particular details of cut-off points for varying levels of requirements and aspects of monitoring Members of the Inspectorate were given a presentation by the Counter .
Explosives & High Class Dangerous Goods
Terrorism Co-ordination Unit of Victoria Police, covering aspects of security in regard to explosives and HCDG. It is hoped that similar presentations will be possible to interested industry groups.
