30 Years Strong – Lincom Group’s Success

By on February 3, 2026

Celebrating 30 years, Lincom Group reflects on a journey that began in 1995 at Narangba, Queensland. From a small local operation to a leading supplier of material processing equipment across Australia, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific Islands, their history has been shaped by steady growth, lasting partnerships, and a strong focus on customer service.

A key turning point in 1998, when Lincom became the Australian distributor for Powerscreen, marking the beginning of a new phase of growth; two years later, they expanded their head office to support increasing demand — early signs that their footprint and ambition were rapidly evolving.

Recognising the need for diversification, Lincom took a bold step in 2006 and established a Recycling Division, positioning them as leaders in sustainable solutions. The following year, they began offering Morbark equipment and received their first ‘After Sales Performance Award’ from Powerscreen, testament to their focus on customer support.

Along the way, they partnered with other industry giants – Kiverco, Thor Global, Rapid, Hercules Trommels, McLanahan, Broadbent, and Action Vibratory Equipment – allowing them to provide customers with best-in-class equipment.

In 2008, they opened their Ballarat branch in Victoria and received another Powerscreen accolade, the ‘Balanced Scorecard Award’. Their achievements continued in 2010 with the ‘Dealer of the Year Award’ from Morbark, further solidifying leadership in the market.

Their expansion continued in 2011 with the opening of their Unanderra branch in NSW, followed by their venture into New Zealand in 2012.

By 2015 and 2017, they’d received multiple awards from Powerscreen and Morbark and also relocated their WA branch to larger premises in Henderson, reflecting their continued expansion.

In 2020, they opened a new branch in the Hunter Valley, NSW, and the following year, they expanded further, by opening a branch in Townsville, Queensland.

They were certified as a ‘Great Place to Work’ in 2021 and finalists in the ‘Bulk Handling Awards’ with the Thor Global Towerstacker. The same year was also marked by the loss of their founder, Roy Watterson, which was deeply felt across the entire business.

In 2022, they continued to grow, receiving certification as an Australian-owned business, establishing Lincom WA, and selling the New Zealand division. The same year, Roy Watterson was inducted into the ‘Powerscreen Hall of Fame’, a fitting tribute to his immense industry contributions.

In 2023 they were finalists in the ‘Moreton Bay Business Awards for Marketing Excellence’ and also won the ‘Powerscreen Regional Dealer of the Year Award’. The same year, Roy Watterson received the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award from Australian Mining.’

In 2024, they reached new heights with the opening of their Technical Institute in Narangba, Queensland and opened a new branch in Adelaide, SA. They were finalists in the ‘Supplier of the Year’ category at the ‘Bulk Handling Awards’; CEO, Stephen Watterson, was also nominated for ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ in the ‘Moreton Bay Awards.’

Other Powerscreen awards included:

  • Global Dealer of the Year
  • Global Leader in Marketing
  • Regional Dealer of the Year – Australia and Asia
  • Global Leader in Training Engagement.

This year marked the beginning of their partnership with Komptech, expanding their range of waste management solutions; partnering with another globally renowned manufacturer strengthened their position in the industry while signifying the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

After three decades marked by steady expansion and strong relationships, Lincom Group now looks ahead with the same determination that shaped their past. The next chapter is already unfolding — backed by experience, a dedicated team, and a clear vision for continued growth.

“Being part of the CMPA gives us a strong and reliable voice to the Victorian Government, ensuring the interests of the material extraction and processing sector are clearly represented. It also creates valuable opportunities to connect with end users from a supplier’s perspective, helping us better understand their needs and challenges.

Being a member of a group that genuinely has the industry’s best interests at heart reinforces our commitment to supporting the sector. We’re proud to be part of CMPA and value the relationships and trust that come with it,” said Mark Quinn, Area Sales Manager, VIC.
