ASSOCIATE UPDATE (Issue 21)
Associate Committee Meeting
Briony Rowley, CMPA Associate Committee Secretary
On Thursday 28th April the CMPA Associate Committee gathered for their first official meeting of 2005. Thanks must go to David Batson for allowing us to use the William Adams facilities at Laverton for the meeting.
Following is a summary of the minutes taken at the meeting…
Associate Committee Chairperson, Andrew Lambing of Komatsu Australia, welcomed the group for the early 8am start.
WEBSITE UPDATE
The CMPA website has recently been updated to include a section covering Associate Member details and relevant information. Further work will be conducted on the website in the near future, with the possibility of a ‘Member’s Only’ section.
ASSOCIATES & GENERAL INFO REFERENCE MANUAL
Associate Members are encouraged to be involved in the production of the AGIRM. This manual provides a comprehensive resource for Voting Members containing the CMPA’s preferred suppliers. The importance of providing detailed information on Membership Renewal forms was brought up, as the listings in the manual are compiled from these details.
CMPA NEWSLETTER
The Associate Committee were happy with the new addition to the newsletter Supporting our Associate Members which contains a full listing of Associate Members. This section encourages Voting Members to support the Associate Members in return for their dedication towards supporting the CMPA. Discussion also took place regarding the benefits of providing educational articles for publication in the CMPA News.
ASSOCIATE MARKETING PROCEDURE DOCUMENT
The recently produced Procedure Document for Associate Marketing describes the benefits of CMPA Associate Membership and outlines the options available to the Members with regards to the newsletter, AGM, workshops, etc.
CMPA WORKSHOPS
It was noted that the Workshops provide the Associate Members with the opportunity to share their knowledge with others, whilst receiving valuable feedback from the end users in return. Reference was made to the value of the OHS Support Documentation compiled as a result of the workshops, which is made available to the industry as a whole. This documentation is used Australia wide, from internally within Associate companies, in Voting Member businesses, to various levels of Government in numerous states.
The benefits mentioned included the value of networking, in that various industry groups come together in a combined effort providing invaluable results. It was noted that the CMPA acts as a catalyst that brings together industry personnel, knocking down the barriers between people normally in competition. The CMPA encourages everyone to work as a team for the overall good of the industry.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
This year’s CMPA AGM will be held in Traralgon on Saturday 13th August. An Associate Sub Committee has been formed to assist Andrew Lambing in the organisation of various aspects of the AGM. Tuesday 17th May has been confirmed for those Associate Members interested in the planning aspects of the AGM to travel to Traralgon to view the venue for organisational purposes. It is also anticipated that proposed family events for the remainder of the weekend be considered on this day.
For a full copy of the Associate Committee Meeting minutes, please contact Briony Rowley at the CMPA on (03) 9745 2132.
Supporting our Associate Members
Andrew Lambing, CMPA Associate Committee Chairperson
Below is a full listing of the CMPA’s Associate Members sorted by industry groupings. Please support our Associates wherever possible, as without their support the services of the CMPA would not be possible. It is disappointing when feedback reaches the CMPA that our Associate Members are being overlooked in he purchasing of goods and services.
Members of the CMPA need to understand the level of support that Associate Members provide, and support them in return.
For more information on any CMPA Associate Members please refer to your Associates and General Information Reference Manual (AGIRM).
The CMPA would like to express its sincere appreciation towards the Associates who have come forward and offered their time and sponsorship of the upcoming Fixed Plant Hazard and Risk Identification Workshop on Wednesday 1st June. Sponsors for the Workshop include:
- Kinder & Co
- PVL Engineering
- Terex Jaques
- WAM Australia
Associates: please note that sponsorship opportunities for the 2005 AGM to be held in August will soon be released.
