Barossa Quarries is a thriving business hidden in Angaston and exports crushed stone products throughout Australia and overseas.

Formerly known as Howard Quarries, which was established in 1938, Stephen and Rebecca Falland are the third generation to own and operate the business.

Stephen, who has 18 years’ experience with the quarry business, is now managing director of the Angaston based business after buying out Rebecca’s parents, Rob and Carol Howard earlier last year.

As people still refer to the Company as Howards, Stephen believes it is very important that the business was able to stay in the family.

Described as a business that is a silent achiever, the backbone of the business is crushing granite from all over Australia to be used in polished pre-cast concrete for high rise office towers all over the country.

“We also specialise in crushing premium marble and granite aggregates for terrazzo tiles and polished concrete floors,” said Stephen. “Barossa Quarries export to New Zealand and the Middle East with more export opportunities in line.”

Not only drawing on the local marble deposits, Barossa Quarries also quarry and transport marble, granite, feldspar, pebbles and quartz from all over Australia to crush and process at the Angaston site.

Barossa Quarries products are “All Australian” and “All Natural” and with over 30 different coloured marble, granite, feldspar, quartz, glass and pebble there is endless potential for this Barossa business.
