Mary Thompson, CMPA Treasurer, Tylden Quarries

On 28th April, Mary Thompson was invited to be part of a Customer and Business Partner Panel at Esanda’s national conference held at Southbank.

The conference was attended by the Esanda Managing Director, Elizabeth Proust, Senior Esanda Management, and 150 managers from Esanda around the country. Other panel members included a finance broker, representative of Esanda’s advertising agency, and a Ford dealer principal.

Mary was asked to submit a paper before the session where she listed a number of areas of concern including:

  1. Credit guidelines
  2. Loan approvals including pre settlement, settlement and post settlement processes
  3. Lack of internet access and statements on leasing commitments
  4. Staff changes at account manager level

A number of these issues were discussed in detail during the forum, particularly 1 and 2 which provided an opportunity to outline the need for flexible and commercial credit terms when financing quarry fixed and mobile plant.

After the session, Elizabeth Proust personally approached Mary Thompson and thanked her for participating, and asked about a number of the issues raised.

The invitation is another example of the CMPA’s active involvement in advancing the interests of our industry, to both regulators and the private sector.
