General New (Issue 5)

By on July 2, 2001

Not Happy Keith!

It is timely to release the fifth issue of CMPA News and the second for 2001 with the next General Meeting scheduled for November 30th 2001 at Digby’s Function Room (RSVP: 27th of November). Thanks must be extended to Action Bearings, Davies & Baird, Galesafe and Jim Roylance for sponsoring this meeting.

In this issue we will update progress in all areas of interest to focus members and interested observers on our needs for the future. Members must realise that the CMPA News forms an integral part of the upcoming meeting in that updates of issues raised at earlier meetings are presented.

Once again this period has provided many challenges and opportunities for the Association and your committee and the membership have been very active dealing with these issues.

INTERLUDE

Test your skill by answering this ” ABC Teaser”

The objective is to draw a single line to connect one box A to the other box A, a second line to connect one box B to the other box B and a third line to connect one box C to the other box C.

  • The lines must be continuous (i.e. not broken or dotted).
  • They must stay within the solid border of the diagram.
  • The lines must not cross.
  • They are not permitted to travel through or touch any other box.

Preferred Suppliers Listing

All CMPA Members will be pleased to note that a Preferred Suppliers Listing in conjunction with several DNRE Guidelines will be issued as CMPA Reference Manual 1. It is planned that these will be ready for release to Members at the upcoming meeting as part of their Annual Fees.

As such it is requested that any supplier who wishes to be listed becomes an Associate Member before the 27th of November.

Yellow Pages Advertising

It has been resolved that over the next two years a detailed advertising campaign will be established to highlight the advantages that a CMPA Member company can offer potential customers throughout Victoria.

As such, the first stage (occurring this year) will involve Voting Members nominating in this year’s Yellow Pages adverts that they are CMPA members (Contact Secretary for details). It is envisioned that the 2002-03 Yellow Pages will have a CMPA display avert containing a 1300 number with an associated support system to direct potential customers to members who have taken part in the campaign.
