In today’s competitive business environment, there are plenty of resources available that provide advice or assistance that will enable you to grow your business. ROGER BUCKLEY provides an overview of Government programs.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY
WorkHealth
WorkHealth supports Victorian workplaces by offering voluntary programs to promote health and well-being in the workplace.
WorkHealth is brought to you by WorkSafe Victoria and provides the opportunity to participate in one of two opportunities:
- Worker health checks – offering workers a confidential health check which helps them understand their risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. This is FREE if the organisation’s annual remuneration is less than $10 million.
- Workplace health promotion grants – employers who have offered health checks to the majority of their workers in the past two years can access a grant to expand health and well-being activities to support healthy behaviours in the workplace.
WorkHealth is being rolled out progressively across Victoria on a region by region basis and is currently available around Melbourne and south west and north central Victoria. A network of endorsed service providers deliver the worker health checks in the workplace.
