Peninsula Quarries (Vic) support Parks Victoria and the Red Hill Riders
Peninsula Quarries (Vic) makes a valued effort to show our gratitude and give back to the local community throughout the Mornington Peninsula region. Throughout early April, Peninsula Quarries (Vic) had the honour of donating our quarry materials for the maintenance and construction of the Parks Victoria Mountain Bike Trials network located in Red Hill. These designated mountain bike trails span 20kms of natural bushland from Arthur’s Seat across Red Hill down to Dromana. Most trails are within the Arthur’s Seat State Park and being a state park only locally sourced materials can be utilised within the grounds. Part of these trails are used for State and National championships which recently hosted the Women’s cross-country event.
Parks Victoria along with Red Hill Riders do outstanding work building and maintaining the vast network of mixed trails which include downhill and cross-country courses. This mountain biking hub is extremely popular amongst all ages from young children to grown adults varying in experience from first timers to professional athletes. Red Hill Riders advocate that everyone is welcomed and encourage the general spirit of inclusion, patience, and friendship.
In supplying the donated material, it will enable Parks Victoria and the Red Hill Riders to upgrade and maintain existing and new trails. Given their limited resources Peninsula Quarries felt it was an ideal way to support and give back to the local community directly.
Peninsula Quarries (VIC) has been a member of the CMPA since 2017.
