This Baby’s Ready to Rock
IAN WALSON from Atlas Copco Construction and Mining Australia talks about the benefits of their smallest hydraulic surface drill.
WHEN small holes are big business, the brand new ROC T15 from Atlas Copco offers more. Our smallest hydraulic surface drill rig in the range will be your best mate for demanding jobs and when transport is an issue. It is perfect for small construction jobs, the dimension stone industry and unique applications such as self drilling anchors, bolting holes and boulder blasting.
THE SMALL RIG FOR TOUGH DRILLING SITUATIONS
It has more than 18m2 horizontal coverage area, which makes the rig unique in its class. You can easily transport it on a small truck and the boom can be folded on to the rig for really compact transport dimensions.
ROC T15 is a self propelled four-wheel driven drill rig, compact with its 2800 kg weight, covering the hole diameters of 22 to 45 mm (7/8”-1 ¾”). It is equipped with an easy to operate full radio-remote control for tramming, drilling and boom functions, for operator’s safety, flexibility and higher productivity.
The high stability of the ROC T15 is due to its superior design and enables fast and safe movement on rough terrain.
It can also be equipped with a hydraulic winch that has a variable line pull for working in extreme conditions, where it is necessary to anchor the rig or secure safe tramming. Specially designed front support legs help tramming in rough terrain.
COP1028 can be equipped with a Magnum SR28 (1⅛”) shank and with the help of 3050mm SR28 Speedrods it is possible to drill up to 9m for extension drilling. Magnum SR28 is a special conical thread design from Atlas Copco Secoroc with a hole range of 33-45mm (115/16”-1¾”). The use of 28mm rods prevents deviation in the hole and gives stable drilling.
ROC T15 with COP1028 rock drill combination can be equipped with a hydraulic drill steel support as an option. This feature will give the ability to retract and uncouple the rods using the remote control.
VERSATILE AND COMPACT
ROC T15 is the answer for demanding jobs and when transport is an issue. It can replace hand held drills in small aggregate quarries. It can excavate building foundations and be used in trench blasting and road and railway construction. It can install self drilling anchors, and drill for rock bolts and can be used for boulder blasting in both surface and underground environments.
ROC T15 can also be employed by dimension stone quarries. It can easily be transported on a small truck, with the boom folded to very compact dimensions.
