EDUCATION POLICY

Over the next 12 months, the CMPA feels that the following areas require the Association’s attention:

  1. Ensuring that training is relevant to employees current and future requirements, expanding their opportunities and adding value to the business whilst complying with legislative and regulatory requirements.
  2. Working with the regulator (DPI) and its suppliers to support RTOs offering training to the industry.
  3. Work with the Manufacturing and Engineering Skills Advisory Body to establish recognition of the need for traineeships.
  4. Recognise the need for regulator engagement in encouraging and assisting Work Authority holders in meeting their training requirements and therefore their legal obligations.

The aim is to ensure the future generation have the support and information available to continue in the industry.
