Medical Assessment Templates

These assessments will ensure standardised pre-employment, periodical and exit medical assessments are possible.
Please note that this will not dictate which doctor needs to conduct the test—rather it is a tool that the doctor can use as a benchmark.
VECCI Membership
The CMPA holds membership with the Victorian Employers Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This membership means that CMPA Members who also hold VECCI membership are entitled to a 15% discount. If you didn’t put your number on your membership forms, call Briony today!
Red Tape Investigation
A number of Members and government bodies have requested the CMPA to clearly articulate what it views as red tape issues.
The following was resolved:
• A questionnaire is developed to extract this information from Members.
• The issues are outlined through key points. This needs to be released in the coming month to provide information to candidates in the upcoming state election.
• The details and examples need to be clarified over the following months to back up key issues.
Victorian Limestone Producers Association
The Victorian Limestone Producers Association held its AGM and conference recently at which the Committee for 2006/07 was elected.
Gary Bascomb (Chairman), Trevor Tovey (Treasurer), Murray Joseph (Secretary), Graham Heywood and Noel Letcher. Noel stepped down in accordance with the constitution after 2 years.
Trevor Tovey, a well known lime industry identity from Unimin and prominent force in founding the VLPA, was elected the Association’s first life member.
Peter McCluskey formerly of Regional Development Victoria took up the role of part-time Business Manager earlier this year.
The AGM and conference was sponsored by Komatsu, Regional Development Victoria and Galesafe.
Contracts over $80,000
If you are in the process of working out a major supply contract, please contact the CMPA to trial the CMPA’s Generic Contract Conditions for Works over $80,000.
This document has been developed in consultation with Vic Roads, the CCF and major industry participants, and now needs trial to ensure it will work.
Strzelecki Awards
The DPI has released the 2007 Strzelecki awards which include a ‘Small Business Award’. Details are available from www.dpi.vic.gov.au
After consideration, the CMPA Management Committee has resolved that it is unable to support a small operator’s award at the present time, however would like to commence work with the Department on future awards.
Particular areas of concern in the current award include:
- Award scope
- Recognition of awardees
- Definition of ‘small businesses’
In principle, the Association sees the proposed small operator awards as a step forward, however as outlined above, feel that it is premature to enter this foray for the 2007 awards.
Extractive Industry Advisory Group
The CMPA has been invited to hold a position of the Extractive Industries Advisory Group.

Other invited participants include the DPI, IQA, RIISC, Boral Resources, Readymix, Hanson Construction Materials, Barro Group, E B Mawson & Sons and Tylden Quarries.
