Espom Sand and Soil committed to supporting community
Epsom Sand & Soil has been a member with the CMPA since 2019 and is a locally Owned and Operated company located in Bendigo.
We have been producing and supplying landscaping products to the Central Victoria region since 1976.
Epsom Sand & Soil have received tremendous support from the community over the many years we have been operating, which has enable the business to be the success it is today. We have made a commitment to give back to the community that supports our business, we are particularly committed to supporting projects where individuals or groups are in need.
Epsom Sand & Soil has been in partnership with the Bendigo Northern District Community Enterprise (BNDCE) for just over a year now. This collaboration is a natural extension of our commitment to community giving, and is an essential part of our business philosophy.
As a partner, we are excited to offer continued financial support and landscaping products for the 2025-26 BNDCE Community Grants. These grants are available to local community groups, sporting clubs, and schools across Bendigo’s northern corridor, enabling them to access much needed resources for their projects.
The BNDCE has a long history of supporting initiatives that enrich the community, and we are proud to play our part in their mission. Together, we want to make a meaningful impact by directing money to projects, activities and facilities to support young people, families and the elderly in the entire region.

Other Community Projects we are or have been involved with are; the Huntly Kinder Project where we funded $3000 to their -“Carving Our Identity” project. This involved having a dead tree in the kinder yard transformed it into a carved artwork, representing the four kinder groups that use the yard; Echidna, Whirrakee Wattle, Sugar Glider and Rosella, as well as use for Bush Kinder. The Huntly Kinder does lots of sustainability activities and learn about animals and their environment through a nature play focus. 4 Groups are Echidna, Whirrakee Wattle, Sugar Glider and Rosella. This carving is now a beautiful educational feature of the yard.
At Huntly Kinder, children engage in a wide range of sustainability activities and explore animals and their habitats through a nature play approach. The tree carving now stands as a beautiful and educational focal point in the yard.

The CWA – Cycling Without Age group wished to begin a club which uses an electric and human powered tricycles to escort elderly people and people with a disability (who have mobility issues) out into local gardens to enjoy the environment and mix/socialise with others in the community and combat loneliness. We funded $4,892 for maintenance items, insurance and equipment for the tricycle so they could get the project off the ground. Mayor Andrea unveiled the new tricycle at its launch event and presented Epsom Sand & Soil with a certificate.

The Men’s shed asked for a grant to set up wicking beds to begin the garden part of the Men’s Shed Activities. Epsom Sand & Soil was delighted to be able contribute to the initiative. The Men’s Shed was instigated to foster a welcoming environment for men to come together and learn and share
skills while building friendships and promoting mental and physical wellbeing. A place to feel valued, supported and to contribute to the enrichment of the community with handson workshops in a number of areas.
The Wicking Bed Project was to begin one of the hands-on activities of gardening. The investment was to build the beds from donated pods and to clear and set up another area for revegetation. The produce was to be used by families of participants and to be passed on to the needy within the community.
The team at Epsom Sand & Soil fee proud and privileged to be a part of such wonderful and life changing projects in our community. We are also proud to partner with the Dementia Alliance to create a more inclusive and supportive community for individuals living with dementia and their carers.
At Epsom Sand & Soil we partnered to supply materials for the “Reflections at Eppalock” project, transforming the location into a serene, nature-based sanctuary. This space offers respite, connection, and a sense of belonging to those navigating the challenges of dementia. Together, we’re building a brighter future for people living with dementia in our region.
