The Watercart Checklist is a useful resource for operator’s pre-start and end-of-day.

Examples of requirements
- You must have a current and appropriate class of licence to operate this vehicle.
- You must comply with your company’s Fatigue Management System ensuring that you do not exceed the hours of work permissible, you are adequately rested, keeping record of compulsory rest times, free of drugs/alcohol and fit for work.
- Confirm truck registration and applicable permits are current.
- Confirm the vehicle appears to be in a roadworthy condition.
During the day there are a number of general safety checks that should occur to ensure staff safety, for example:
- Have received clear instructions on tasks to be performed and seek clarification if required
- Wear PPE and adhere to all site signage areas at all times
- Inspect previous day’s checklist and confirm with the previous operator if there are any issues
- Comply with the company’s procedure regarding the allocation and removal of isolation tags and plant lockout devices
- ‘Take 5’ and if required, identify, assess and control any risks before undertaking any tasks
- Remove any loose tools from the cabin before operating
