City Circle Group – Linda receives Australian of the Year Award
City Circle Group employee, Linda Widdup recently accepted the honour of ‘Australian of the Year Award – Local Hero’, for her volunteering efforts as a farming community organiser.
She brings hope to Australian farmers in their time of need, organising deliveries of critical feed in response to drought and natural disasters.
Linda founded ‘Aussie Hay Runners’ in 2019 starting out with just four trucks, delivering hay to help farmers feed livestock.
The voluntary-run organisation now has more than 70 trucks on-call, clocking up millions of kilometres while delivering over 90,000 bales of fodder to struggling farmers.
Her drive and energy in raising funds, organising volunteers and managing the logistics of trucks and feed deliveries is an outstanding example of community action.
“The work of the ‘Aussie Hay Runners’ volunteers not only provides relief for livestock but also raises morale among distressed communities and families,” said Linda.
Through her actions, she is helping fellow Australian get through tough times on the land.
