EDUCATION UPDATE (Issue 23)
Red Card Update
Earlier in 2005 the CMPA, in conjunction with Box Hill Institute of TAFE, facilitated update courses for those who had attended Work Safely training in the past to receive recognition for the Red Card.
All Work Safely Courses have now been incorporated to include the conversion process for all interested attendees.
As such attendees of the refresher courses and recent Work Safely training will be happy to know that the Red Card certificates have been posted by the HIA to the home addresses of all attendees.
If you are yet to receive your certificate please contact the CMPA and we will contact the HIA directly.
Extractive Industry Operators Traineeships
A meeting was held recently with Jennifer Oliver (Box Hill TAFE), Brian Hole (Jobs Plus) and the CMPA to discuss how members are able to access Commonwealth Traineeship funding. It was established that members are able to access this funding and as a result a pathway will be developed and included into an upcoming edition of the CMPA News.
Members: Ability to Request On-Site Training
Whilst Members would be aware that the CMPA facilitates numerous training courses both within the Melbourne CBD and widely around regional Victoria, you may not be aware that the CMPA is more than happy to organise on site training upon Members request.
If you would like to train your workforce and would be interested in holding a course such as Work Safely at your own site all you need to do is contact the Secretariat and provide approximately 10 attendees for the course. These 10 attendees can be your own employees or from other interested companies, both Members and Non-Members alike.
Other courses such as Perform Basic Cutting & Welding can also be organised through the Secretariat. This course only requires 5 people per course.
