Rita Bentley
Recreational Environment Group, Southern Metropolitan Region
Rita Bentley is part of the Recreational Environment Group and is seeking election to the Upper House Southern Metropolitan Region. REG was formed primarily to stop the Greens from winning the balance of power in the Upper House and, as Rita says, holding Victoria to ransom.
REG’s platform is to promote true balance is relation to environmental issues – a balance that recognises the needs of people and the economy. Rita is the president of the Prospectors & Miners Association, until recently a director of the Australian Environment Foundation and Secretary of the Bush Users Group.
She has been campaigning for balanced public land access for 20 years and is no doubt known to some members.
