Box Hill Institute of TAFE has a midyear intake for Th e Advanced Diploma of Extractive Industries Operations (RII60209) and requires the successful completion of 14 units of competency.

THE Advanced Diploma of Extractive Industries Operations will require participation on-site at Box Hill Institute over four separate block’s of face-to-face problem-based interactive learning tasks. The initial block of face-to-face facilitation over three day’s: the 30th and the 31st of July and the 1st of August 2013.

The Advanced Diploma is specifically designed for operational managers within the surface mining industry, normally with direct reporting accountabilities to the Board or the Owners of the business.

The program has been developed to assist in the development of high level capabilities in the self management of autonomous accountability and responsibility demanded by the ever increasing competitiveness of the Extractive Industry. These accountabilities and responsibilities will be realised through advanced judgement and decision-making skills, the justification and selection of both fundamental and complex refurbishments, critical and strategic business analysis including competitor analysis as an example.

The implementation of this program will be structured around and targeting participant site specific case studies and strategic scenario’s, pertinent to each business involved.

The core principles of this program will focus on performance management and organisational competitiveness.

Prerequisites:
There are no qualification entry requirements. Candidates must have experience in a working quarry or similar at the management level.
