Chairperson’s comment (Issue 3)

By on July 2, 2000

On behalf of all CMPA members, I would like to thank all those who have supported us over the last 12 months. In particular, I would like to thank the Minister, Hon. Candy Broad, on her recognition of the CMPA; CMPA committees and all members; professional advisors; and those DNRE officers associated with our industry.

Something to ponder upon…

I believe that we are trying to exist in a community that is having difficulty understanding the necessity of purpose and identity in ensuring an individual’s dignity. This becomes more obvious when reflecting upon the plight of our indigenous people. As such, the CMPA’s activities over the last 12 months have been based upon the development of an identity and purpose which reflects the soul of its members.

I also wonder if this attitude is attributing to the relaxing of our state’s identity in regulations, education and many other issues affecting our every day life. It may seem cheaper, easier and even more logical that there should only be one set of rules, one company, and one regulator but does this enhance our purpose or identity?
