On the evening of Friday March 14, around 45 members gathered at the EMECO sales centre in Dandenong for the twelfth CMPA General Meeting. As usual, there was representation from across the state and the contributions of all present were much appreciated.

During the evening drawing of the CMPA-Royal Victorian Institute for the Blind (RVIB) raffle took place.  Peter Barro won first prize, a night for two at Rydges in Melbourne.  Second prize, a $100 food voucher at Cecconis restaurant was won by Peter Shanahan and third prize (the esky pack) was taken out by Rebecca Arrell from William Adams.  The raffle raised over $700 for the RVIB.  Guest speakers from the National Australia Bank provided an excellent run-down of Australia’s economic outlook and the likely effects on the extractive industries.

L-R: Mike McCann (Jaques) and Bruce McClure (McClures Earthmoving)

L-R:  David Jeffery (Casacir)  Peter Duffy (Dufco) and Jeff Heywood (Maryvale Sands)

Once again, the CMPA was pleased to have Mr John Mitas (Chief Inspector of Mines and Quarries, Department of Primary Industries) as a guest speaker.

A special thankyou goes to EMECO for the provision of the venue and a fantastic feed.  The CMPA would also like to thank all members who provided support for the meeting through participation and attendance.
