The Minimising Rehabilitation Bonds – Hard Rock Workshop was held on Thursday 23 May 2024 at Best Western Airport Motel, Attwood. There were 44 attendees (including presenters) representing 21 quarry businesses. Below are extracts of the presentations and speakers from the day.

Schedule of works
• Bed preparation – control of the grass and weeds present with herbicide.
• Soil cultivation and installation of a layer of timber mulch to allow moisture in the underlying soil and cool soil temperatures aiding establishment of the plants.
• Fence off establish beds to stop animal access
• Planting – plant tube stock, water in. If planting is timed for early winter, follow up watering should not be required.
Maintenance Schedule included in contract
• Weed control of the beds – for 2 years after planting
• Replacement of dead plants – for 2 years after plantings
• Beyond the first 2 years occasional weed spraying and slashing may be required.
• Fencing repairs as required
