The Performance Edge

JOHN ROBERTS, Business Development Manager of Leadership Management Australasia reports on personal and professional development of your employees.

CMPA foundation Voting Member, Andrew Burdett from Burdett Sands and three of his Managers, recently completed the program “The Performance Edge” with Leadership Management Australia.

What were you’re overall impressions of the course?

Coming from a ‘hands on’ family business, this was the first management course Burdett’s enrolled in. I decided that I would participate with three key managers. If I was expecting them to change and develop, then I needed to lead the way and step up with them.

How would you describe the course and your results?

Overall the course was excellent in many ways including:

  • Getting more productivity out of people in the same amount of time,
  • An increase in the amount of time managers spend on key priorities,
  • Keeping attitudes positive when faced with challenges.

Final thoughts:

We saw a significant return on investment from completing the program. I’d recommend any prospective participant to enrol themselves and staff into an LMA program.

LMA’s program The Performance Edge will quickly improve the personal and professional development of your people, and as a result, your organisation’s performance and productivity will improve. The Performance Edge is a personal development course that develops the ‘total person’ through our unique development process, achieving permanent behavioural change which dramatically improves all facets of participants’ lives, professionally as well as personally. LMA has had thousands of participants complete The Performance Edge, seeing an average increase in performance and productivity of 15% per participant.

The course format is 10 weekly / 2.5 hour Workshops. Workshop participant places range from 10 to 20 participants. LMA’s courses suit the ‘hands on’ and practical nature of the CMPA industry. We deliver four key benefits for participants and their organisations:

  • Practical learning resulting in permanent (incremental) change in attitudes and behaviours.
  • Measurable results and outcomes.
  • Identifiable return on investment.
  • Personalised learning with participants working on specific and measurable workplace goals.

We don’t train people – we develop them – and there’s a massive difference. Information received through traditional training methods is quickly forgotten and without application back in the workplace, short training courses deliver knowledge without behavioural change. (The above diagram demonstrates this).

As a leader or manager, you are responsible not just for the performance of your team but also for their development and growth. The long term viability and stability of the organisation and its workforce depends on it – what should you be doing to attract, retain and develop your talent?

The next available Program is scheduled to begin on the 5th February 2014, Glen Iris, 8am – 10.30 (10 Workshops).

Leadership Management Australasia (LMA) was established 40 years ago.
